The MAX1795EUA+T from Maxim Integrated Products is a low supply current, step-up DC to DC converter with true shutdown in 8 pin µMAX package. This step-up DC to DC converter intended for portable hand-held devices. It features True Shutdown™ circuitry which fully disconnects O/P from I/P in shutdown that improves efficiency and eliminates costly external components. The device features LX-damping circuitry for reduced EMI in noise-sensitive applications. For additional in-system flexibility, a battery monitoring comparator (LBI/LBO) remains active even when converter is in shutdown. It starts up with voltages as low as 0.85V and operate with an input down to +0.7V. The preset, pin-selectable 5V or 3.3V output. Output can also be adjusted to other voltages using 2 external resistors. The 0.25A current limit allows optimization of external components for different loads. It is used at portable digital audio players, PDAs/palmtops, wireless handsets applications.
